·  Put a condom on the dildo or vibrator if it will be inserted into a person's anus. Equally important is remembering to switch condoms each time the usage is switched from anus to vagina.

·  Know what kind of material the vibrator or dildo is made of, because different materials often require different types of cleaning. Silicone, however, is a very popular toy material, and it can be washed with soap and warm water. Allow it to air dry.

·  If it is an electric toy, do not submerge it in water. Instead, clean it with a soapy, damp washcloth.
