FASHION WRAP-CAPE ON

Hey dear metroholicas,
As the cool and fresh breezes have started to blow after the beautiful rains, this is warning for all of to start shopping for winters, Yup they are about to arrive.
The biggest trend which we will see whole winter season is the "cape". Cape has made a huge comeback the fall/winter season of 2010-2011. It was seen the most on almost every ramp.
Cape was first invented in 19th century but they were not able to hit the ramps and fashion stores at that time. Cape can be used to describe any sleeveless outer garment, such as a poncho, but usually it is a long garment that covers only the back half of the wearer, fastening around the neck
In the 19th century cape was just used as a garment to protect from the weather not to make any bold style statement, it was wore over the evening gowns.
But now for this season if you really want a piece that can make you a complete style statement then you must buy a cape. They are not only stylish, versatile but also in trend.
But you should be aware that a cape makes you look voluminous, so you be careful before buying one that you can carry it or not. And if your figure is not allowing you to buy a cape and still you are desperate to follow the trend then just don't worry I have a solution for that too, just buy a cape with belt on it.

Some points which you should always keep in mind while following this trend. For giving a nice look wear a cape with skinny pants, pencil skirt, leggings, fitted dress or long skirt. Cape-sleeves shirts and cardigans take a front seat in fashion whilst short capes, shawls and stoles are perfect for party wear.

This season capes come in a wide variety, sizes and fabrics from silk and wool to velvet and fur.
One should be careful of their body sizes while selecting a cape. For e.g. A short height women should buy a cape coat that ends up on their waist because a long cape will make them look much shorter and to give your cape a perfect look team it up with short skirts or shorts with tights. And petite women's don't have to worry at all as they can wear any type of cape.

This year you will find cape coat in a big designer house to a small street side  shoppe, from long cape coat to short in every fabric in every colour, you just have to match you style and you will never go wrong wih this fashion this year. So dear metroholicas…..start buying and….Be Fashionable….!!!!

THE LEFT RIGHT LEFT FASHION

Left right left..!!! Left right left….!!! No don't get confused I am not teaching you how to walk in army, am just teaching you how to walk in fashion because a military trend is the new fashion statement for the spring/summer year 2010. This trend is the latest blockbuster in fashion world this year, was seen everywhere on the runway, and will be seen on the local streets whole year.
Military trend was initially popularized during the 60s, only as a protest to the Vietnam War. And as nothing hides away from fashion followers it also spread rapidly as a mode of fashion; with the hippies taking all its credit. Trench coats, berets, and jackets have enjoyed seasons of popularity in the past, and camouflage was a hot favorite; especially for teenagers. Military fashion as a trend is nothing new, but while fashion trends tend to burn out within a few years, the women's military fashion trend isn't going anywhere, though like all true fashion trends, in 2010 the military trend will evolve.
Fashion outfits in khaki, green, and olive commands the season's attention with patterns reflecting the military uniform. Green and grey are dominant colors in the palette. Strict sharp forms with too little femininity look pretty on women but I would never call that stylish. Burberry Prorsum items are also included though they hardly belong to the military style.

This trend is seen in various formal dresses. Trends of military fashion for 2010 are mostly inspired by the military uniforms of the 20th century. Napoleon styled jackets with high stand collars, hussar influenced garments with a gold border, and admiral coats with an air of command in it. Army green is seen in cropped shearling collared coats and loose fitting cargo pants. If army green is the trend's color, then shearling is its fabric. And that's because of its dual use as an embellishment on aviator boots / military fashion boots and a coat's collar. A word of warning though: we have the odd occurrence of camouflage print, we'd recommend you avoid it for the time being - it's simply too soon a comeback.
Women generally do not prefer a boxy look or the hard military look as in mens style. Buckles, snaps, and fringes are included in their apparel.
You will not only find clothes and dresses of military style but footwear and accessories too. You can easily fill your wardrobe with any of your style of military trend.
So my dear metroholicas…..don't be too late to go for shopping because this trend is spreading very fast, select and pick your favorite style before anyone else does it and …..Be Fashionable…….!!!!

GO PEPPY WITH FUNKY FASHION

Summers are fun and so about colors and for trying out new and innovative fashion trends, for trying all the trends that follow. And this year one was the biggest and going to be most famous trend or style is the pop-art fashion.

The word Pop Art is an abbreviation for Popular Art. The name says it all. The Pop Art movement wanted to bring art back into the daily life of people. It was a reaction against abstract painting, which pop artists considered as too sophisticated and elite.

Pop Art is another of those many retro buzzwords or phrases that seems to be used to give sixties credo to any number of items, but once in a while it's right on the money. It is all about Expressive visuals, vivid colors, unconventional and joyful prints, Japanese influences, popular mass culture elements, comic books figures and graphics. ''Pop art is not pretentious. It relates to the cartoon of life the only art and fashion movement that is not …and this will become the fashion statement for the whole world this year.

Everyone loves graphic prints as they are mesmerizing and fun. Bold graphic prints entirely dominate this spring. Graphic prints are popping everywhere and were seen on the runways for most of the designers. Look for blown up prints, spunky graphics, and maybe even some subtle faded prints to add life to your wardrobe. Whether you opt for big or small prints, pair them with your own personal style for the right look.

Don't go for all over pop art style as you will look like a mobile painting and which is only good for the walls of your house. Choose one pop art element / outfit. Don't match pop art with pop art. Make the pop art item the central element of your outfit and construct your look starting from this statement item. Keep the rest of the outfit simple / neutral.

And if you don't want to go for clothes with graphic prints and don't worry in every market you can easily find accessories with these prints from bags to shoes to necklaces to bracelets, there is a whole lot of range available in the market.

But one thing you should keep in mind always is that don't go for this look in formal occasions.

So dear metroholicas …keep your old boring stuff at one side and try this funky yet stylish yet elegant look, and beat everyone with your style and Be Fashionable…..!!!!

GLOBAL FASHION

Summers have finally arrived. The season of wearing whatever you want and look cool and stylish. And I am here to help you look stylish, sassy and sexy by telling you the best thing to wear in summers.

And that is the kurti, yes I am not talking about the one who Indian women wear which is called the salwar kameez instead I am talking about the tunic style kurti which is considered as an indo-western outfit.

Kurti was also introduced in India but now its one of the most adapted style outside India too. It's simply because you can wear it with almost anything and still look cool! Also, you can wear kurtis to the beach, to the mall, and a good one even to a party and the fabric ranges from casual cottons to sensual silks.

Kurtis have now been an essential part of every woman's wardrobe. The best part of dressing in a kurtis is the fact that they are extremely comfortable and can be worn for hours at a stretch. Be it college going girls or middle aged women; kurtis are popular across all age categories.

Kurtis comes in different style, there are knee length kurtis, up to hips and now-a-days the most favorite is the short length kurtis which is up to the waist.

There are so many different ways of wearing a kurti. Here are some examples-

  • The first and the most common way of wearing a kurti are with denim, your usual ones. Team it up with high heels.
  • You can also wear a kurti with leggings but keep in mind to wear it with only knee length leggings.
  • You can wear a short well fitting kurti with your harem pants and wear mojaries on your feet.
  • I also favor kurtis worn with short denim skirts but you should always have the right attitude to carry it.

Kurtis are available in various materials. Kurtis worn during the months of summer are usually made of thin silk or cotton fabrics while winter season kurtis are made of fabrics like Khadi silk, jute and other thick fibers.

Chikan embroidered cotton kurtis at the best option to beat the Indian summer. This type of embroidery is seen on light, semi-transparent fabric.  The subtle effect of this embroidery on the kurti makes it rich and appealing in all senses.

While wearing a kurti you should always try to team them up with heels and big dazzling chandelier earrings will complete your look if you are wearing a kurti for a party.kurti should always be fitted according to your size. Girls, please try to avoid carrying your jhola style bags while wearing a kurti as it makes you look fashion disaster.

The best thing about going for a kurti look is that you can wear it at any time of the day and at any occasion. At informal and also at formal places. And you can easily find them at any market.

So, dear metroholicas don't waste your time in thinking and quickly go in the market and pick your style before someone else picks it up and Be Fashionable……!!!!!

FASHION- BODY ART

In today's world, people are very much inclined towards fashion that they can do anything too keep themselves up to date with latest fashion trends. People want to look smart and unique with every another person and to achieve that people are now following the tattoo trend.

Using the body as a canvas is nothing new; for years designers and make-up artists have painted models with markings of some description. In seasons past we've seen brandings (tattoos, slogans and drawings) stamped and scrawled across bodies and faces.

Placing  tattoo on your body was firstly known as emo culture because emo people introduced this art, but in this fast changing world of fashion, tattoo art is now adapted by all the people universally.

The emo culture is all about personal expression. It is a way of using fashion, music, hairstyles, and more to display one's inner feelings. In keeping with this idea, many emo youths get tattoos with some personal meaning. There are no real rules when it comes to emo tattoos

For spring 2010 however, this occasional practice become a trend, with not just one designer doing it, but a handful or more.  Paraded girls with tribal tattoos painted on their arms and hands. Big, black bands wrapped around arms, snaked up shoulders and down wrists, swirled around elbows and featured bold motifs.

Tattoos can include a wide variety of sizes, images, and colors. However, a few generalizations about this trend can be made. First, there are many things emo tattoos are not. They are not meant to represent pop culture icons, make jokes, or be a mere aesthetic picture. They are also not meant to be objects of sexuality.

Earlier tattoos were known as an permanent art, which one placed cant be removed for the rest of life, but as now people started placing their beloved's name over their body, to show them their love, which doesn't lasts long, People are now using semi permanent tattoos so that they can change it according to the situation and name of their loved ones.

But as a fashionista, would advise you all not place anybody's name over your body as it just looks awful, and there are many other ways to show off your love to them.

Tattoo is now an in thing but as a coin has two sides there are some points which you should keep in mind while adapting this look-

  • You should be over 18 years of age to adopt this look.

  • You should consult a doctor before adopting this look because not evry skin is normal to handle thses kind of misuses with their bodies, some are sensetive.

  • Tattoos should be meaningful, you can't place anything weird on your body.

  • You should be confident enough to carry on a tattoo on your body, otherwise you will keep finding ways to hide it.

So, dear metroholicas, just follow the simple rules and instructions to carry on a tattoo and Be Fashionable…..!!!!!

ACE UP WITH LACE

Only a trendy and stylish garment doesn't  gives you a complete look, you have to add up a little more elegance to you look always and to embrace your look completely the best thing is lace.

Lace is an elegant, sophisticated, feminine, and frivolous fabric and its unique weave structure calls for special sewing techniques. Alencon, Chantilly and Guipure are the most versatile types and each has its own qualities and handling requirements.

earlier lace was only seen in table covers, sofa covers…just for decorating our homes but it was introduced to decorate us in our wardrobe years ago, when you grandmother was young. but those were the days when lace was seen only in sarees and suits in
India and in gowns outside India but now lace is on everything.

This year's fall runways were rich in lace, from Milan, Paris, London and New York. This season sees lace in all shapes and forms, from lace-covered purses and shoes, to lace dresses, skirts and even coats. Yes, lace is in trend for the year 2010.

One of the easiest and most fashionable looks to keep you right-on-trend this season is to wear a little lace. One of the earliest needle arts, lace has been around in one form or another for hundreds of years. These delicate designs come in a variety of fibers, including silk, cotton, rayon and even polyester.

The key to wearing lace well is to strike a balance in the amount you wear; you don't want to wear too much and you don't want to wear too little, either. For instance, a great pair of lace tights can add a sexy feel to just about any outfit, but don't overdo it by wearing other lace-trimmed pieces at the same time.

Lace is not only meant for casual looks, you can also add lace in your formals, and can make your office look from mind-numbing to mind blowing.

While organizing your formal or casual outfit add a tint of refinement to your look by choosing lace. The classic lace camisole is another perfect example; wear it peeking out from underneath a blouse or a blazer to create a flash of allure without looking like a doily your grandmother crocheted in her youth. The fabric with century's long traditions seems to embody all that feminine allure and class really means. Pair it with the must have accessories of the seasons to look dazzling and up-to-date with the latest waves of inspiration in fashion industry.

The look is sophisticated, sharp and feminine with an antique feel, from layered lace to transparent outfits in on-trend sculpted shape.

So dear metroholicas, go and buy anything with lace from clothes to shoes to bags and ace up your fashion with a sexy yet elegant lace and Be Fashionable…..!!!!

THE COLORFUL TREND

The cool breezes of winters are signing off their final goodbyes and the hot- hot sun has started blowing out kisses for inviting summers.

Yes, the hot summers are making their arrival and for keeping themselves cool in this summers normal people always wear cool colors but we fashionistas are somewhat different from normal people as we don't believe in following the rules, else we believe in breaking them by trying to look more hotter in hot weather by wearing colors like trembling oranges, mischievous pinks and outrageous reds.

For all you fashion followers, in the whole 2010 you will see colors red, pink and orange everywhere as these are the biggest trend in colors this year.

Girls don't be afraid of that you will look unique in going for a complete single hue look but feel confident and proud of being unique.

Don't wear these colors only because they are in trend but also wear them because they will make you feel more bold, beautiful, confident, stylish and sexy.

But if still you think you don't have that confident to wear a single hue at all in one time but want to follow the trend, don't worry just compliment these trendsetter colors with other colors like black, white, blue, yellow or any other color of your own choice.

Another way of following this colorful trend is if you don't want to wear clothes of these colors, then wear accessories, yes, in market you will easily find handbags, bracelets, shoes, earrings etc. of your choice in these colors, you just have to name it and you will have it.

So, dear metroholicas quickly go in the market and pick your favorite color and fill your life with colors and make it more beautiful and …….Be Fashionable….!!!!

THE ROYAL FASHION

Dear fashion followers, I always try to keep you up to date with new and latest fashion. What you should wear and what you should not wear, but as they say history repeats itself, there are some fashion trends with which leave their mark in such a way that they keep coming again and again.

The trend which I am taking about today is jodhpurs or jodhpuris, which came in last year spring but marked such a revolution that we will be able to see them this year too. Yes, jodhpurs are biggest trend this year.

Jodhpurs were invented in Rajasthan, India, years and years ago but only the kings used to wear them, they were preferably meant for men.

But that was past now fashion designers have twisted them in such a way that it has become a unisex garment, anyone can wear and anywhere.

Jodhpurs this year are not the kinds of jodhpurs you saw last year; designers have modified them in different ways-

  • Tailored according to your shape, ballon from hip back to a slender calf floating lower-leg shape.

  • They can be skin tight, stretchable from thighs.

  • You can also go the same old traditional look even as they are still very much in fashion.

While going for a Jodhpur look, girls please don't opt for a kurti and empire line top.

Else wear a short and cute t-shirt in any color with any design, or wear jodhpurs with jackets, the summer jackets, or white shirt knotted above.

Jodhpurs come in various fabrics and all kinds of colors but for making a complete fashion statement try to buy in black color.

Other things which you should keep in your mind is that if you thighs are fat then don't buy skin tight jodhpurs, for the women who are curvaceous go the traditional jodhpurs.

And the most important thing you should keep in mind is that doesn't wear flats with any kind of jodhpurs, always wear heels but not too long.

So metroholicas you can easily find your favorite kind of jodhpurs in every corner of the world very easily, in every market, you just have to pick up the most trendy and stylish piece, start buying…..Be Fashionable….!!!

DRESS TO IMPRESS, NOT TO DEPRESS

Love is like quicksilver in the hand. Leave the fingers open and it stays. Clutch it, and it darts away.

Love is the master key that opens the gates of happiness

Love is the irresistible desire to be irresistibly desired

. Don't get confused my dear fashionistas, I haven't changed my profession, I am not here give you love tips because I am only good @ giving fashion tips, I am just saying these line because the valentine day is coming, the day which makes you feel special because it is special occasion for everyone who is in love and on this special day you have to look your best, and as always I am here to help you.

I always tell what should you wear, but today I will tell you what should you not wear this valentine.

The first and the most important thing you should keep in mind is, wear what makes you feel comfortable or what suits you, going on date doesn't means going on red carpet, otherwise besides giving attention to your spouse, you will only be giving attention to your dress.

Secondly, remember its just valentine day….not your wedding day, so, keep your make-up very minimal, guys like girls with natural beauty.

Thirdly, don't go for too loud hairstyles, try to avoid wigs, just keep your hair simple, go for a straight hair look or layers or few curls will also help.

That little black dress looks sexy and suits every occasion, but this valentine don't wear anything that is too short and revealing.

I know girls you like wearing harem pants, they make you very comfortable but girls don't you dare wear them on valentine day, you are not going to hang around with you college friends.

Whatever you wear, please don't wear flats with them, they are in fashion but for that day heels are perfect but don't extend you heels more than 3 inches.

And now as I have told you what not to wear, I think I should give you a few tips on what should you wear.
If you are going on a dinner that day, than wear a one piece dress but not too long and not too short, it should be knee length.

And if you are going out in day time than jeans will do the best with a nice cute top, it can be a one shoulder top, or bell sleeve or bishop sleeve top.

And if don't know where your guy is taking you, you will at least be knowing at what time you are going, than dress accordingly as mentioned above.

And the colors for the evening are red, black and pink, I mean they are the must to add colors, don't go for a overall red look, just mix n mix n match them.

And one more thing, I know you will be pampered that day with lots of gifts, but it doesn't means that you should carry a big bag, don't carry it, else carry a cute and stylish looking clutch with whatever you wear @ whatever time you are going.

And the most important thing is whatever you wear, don't forget to carry a smile on your face as you will look best with that and I am sure that your beloved will also love it the most as they say "beauty lies in the eyes of beholder".

So dear metroholicas just follow these simple rules and Be Fashionable….!!!!

FASHION PLAYER

Hey my dear fashion addicts, the spring/summer of 2010 is going to arrive and I am here to wake you up and fulfill you life with a thing that will energize you and that is shopping….!!!!!
Yes…the summer is coming back and this summer the latest fashion is sports.Dont worry I am not asking you to play any, just telling to start loving them because this year the biggest and latest fashion is the sportswear.

In the late 70's and 80's,people started playing sports and that was the time they made sportswear but they wore it only @ the time of playing but soon they started them wearing in their day to day life as these clothes made them feel comfortable and now sportswear is back in 2010 but with a fashionable touch. In 2010 sportswear will not only be seen on the playing grounds but on streets too in its entire sexy, lithe, and graceful splendor.
Even the biggest designers also showcased their spring/summer collection with sports wear; sportswear was seen on all the runways, it has already become a huge hit.
Fashion is now extremely sportswear by the way of scuba-inspired bodysuits and dresses complete with buckles, pants low slung to expose the waistband; leather cross-lacing, jersey fabrics, pleated skirts, even if you are going to wear any long or knee length one piece dress, try to add pleats anywhere in the garment and stonewashed bodysuit given modern flair; soft ballet pinks and creams transferred into skinny pants. All these garments can be @ any time of the day.
This sportswear look will not only make you feel comfortable but will also make you look sexy, elegant, confident, stylish and bold.

The most perceptible piece to make a comeback is the tracksuit trouser, but the trend also includes hooded jackets, jersey sweaters and even cycling shorts, all twisted and molded according to this century.
And for the accessories there is whole range of sports shoes or sports footwear is available in the market, big sized handbags with funky prints and buckles will also give you a sporty look. For a complete sporty look, keep you hair a little messy.
Its not necessary that you can always go right with sports wear, while wearing sports wear, avoid midriff-flashing, cut-off tops and please don't try to look more funky through experimenting by wearing cycling shorts alone as you will look complete disaster, unless you are actually going in the ground to play some sports.
So, dear metroholicas start buying your kind of sportswear clothes and start playing but with fashion and Be Fashionable………!!!!!!!!!

BACK IN FASHION- DUNGAREES TREND 2010

Hello my dear fashion followers, I am back here…just to keep you updated with new fashion trends….to tell you…what to wear…and what not to wear in spring/summer 2010.

You must be thinking that it's still shivering and I am telling you the summer trends, but my readers and bloggers get an advantage of staying one step forward than the others, and it's high time to start buying summer clothes as they just going to arrive soon.

In the year 2010, the biggest and stylish comeback has been made by Dungarees; yes they are back in fashion and that too with a bang…..!!!!! That means with innovative styles.

These are trousers with an attached front patch covering the chest and with attached braces which go over the shoulders. Often people use the word "overall" for the bib type garment only and not for a boiler suit.

The term "dungaree" was associated with a coarse undyed calico fabric that was made and sold in a region near Dongari Killa (also called Fort George) in Bombay (now Mumbai) in India.

But I know you are very less interested in its history, the latest new is dungarees are back in again! With a high waist, these jeans were made to wear with braces in an old-school style that draws inspiration from the rodeo look as well as Seventies trends.

Dungarees can be considered a universal garment, because they are worn by millions of people all over the world.

Commonly known as jumper skirts, the versatile dungaree has bounced back. Many fashion-conscious collegians are now switching from their blue denims to colorful dungaree skirts. Available in many colors, these feminine jumpers are a common sight in colleges today.

Today dungarees come in a huge range of sizes, colors, fits and forms. Dungarees may be tight or loose-fitting, stone-washed or deep indigo, and frayed or formal. Dungaree comes now in each and every fabric. Sloppy dungarees in shimmering fabrics provide a fashionable alternative to a party dress.

You can also experiment or convert it into your style. It's really very simple if you will follow my advice.

* Just buy a simple pair of loose fitted dungaree in any color but I will prefer blue.

* And than just cut it from bottom to calf level and than put elastic in the bottom level and then sew it.

* Or make it one shoulder, it is normally of two shoulders so don't cut the other shoulder just overlap both the shoulders and stitch them together, in this way it will not fall and will look stylish.

* Or just embellish it in your own style like paste on it patches, flowers, feathers, stones, chains or whatever you are fond of, whatever you like, you can even paint on it by using fabrics colors, paint your favorite cartoon or quotations…just explore your imagination. In this way you will not have to spend a lot, and you can stay updated with trends.

Some people think this is not stylish, it's just for small kids, but dungarees look cool as well stylish and trendy and that's the reason they have made a comeback this season also.

So, dear metroholicas don't waste your time in thinking just go in the market, you will find it everywhere, and grab you style of piece, before anyone else does it so and Be Fashionable……………!!!!!!!!!
