FASHION WRAP-CAPE ON

Hey dear metroholicas,
As the cool and fresh breezes have started to blow after the beautiful rains, this is warning for all of to start shopping for winters, Yup they are about to arrive.
The biggest trend which we will see whole winter season is the "cape". Cape has made a huge comeback the fall/winter season of 2010-2011. It was seen the most on almost every ramp.
Cape was first invented in 19th century but they were not able to hit the ramps and fashion stores at that time. Cape can be used to describe any sleeveless outer garment, such as a poncho, but usually it is a long garment that covers only the back half of the wearer, fastening around the neck
In the 19th century cape was just used as a garment to protect from the weather not to make any bold style statement, it was wore over the evening gowns.
But now for this season if you really want a piece that can make you a complete style statement then you must buy a cape. They are not only stylish, versatile but also in trend.
But you should be aware that a cape makes you look voluminous, so you be careful before buying one that you can carry it or not. And if your figure is not allowing you to buy a cape and still you are desperate to follow the trend then just don't worry I have a solution for that too, just buy a cape with belt on it.

Some points which you should always keep in mind while following this trend. For giving a nice look wear a cape with skinny pants, pencil skirt, leggings, fitted dress or long skirt. Cape-sleeves shirts and cardigans take a front seat in fashion whilst short capes, shawls and stoles are perfect for party wear.

This season capes come in a wide variety, sizes and fabrics from silk and wool to velvet and fur.
One should be careful of their body sizes while selecting a cape. For e.g. A short height women should buy a cape coat that ends up on their waist because a long cape will make them look much shorter and to give your cape a perfect look team it up with short skirts or shorts with tights. And petite women's don't have to worry at all as they can wear any type of cape.

This year you will find cape coat in a big designer house to a small street side  shoppe, from long cape coat to short in every fabric in every colour, you just have to match you style and you will never go wrong wih this fashion this year. So dear metroholicas…..start buying and….Be Fashionable….!!!!

THE LEFT RIGHT LEFT FASHION

Left right left..!!! Left right left….!!! No don't get confused I am not teaching you how to walk in army, am just teaching you how to walk in fashion because a military trend is the new fashion statement for the spring/summer year 2010. This trend is the latest blockbuster in fashion world this year, was seen everywhere on the runway, and will be seen on the local streets whole year.
Military trend was initially popularized during the 60s, only as a protest to the Vietnam War. And as nothing hides away from fashion followers it also spread rapidly as a mode of fashion; with the hippies taking all its credit. Trench coats, berets, and jackets have enjoyed seasons of popularity in the past, and camouflage was a hot favorite; especially for teenagers. Military fashion as a trend is nothing new, but while fashion trends tend to burn out within a few years, the women's military fashion trend isn't going anywhere, though like all true fashion trends, in 2010 the military trend will evolve.
Fashion outfits in khaki, green, and olive commands the season's attention with patterns reflecting the military uniform. Green and grey are dominant colors in the palette. Strict sharp forms with too little femininity look pretty on women but I would never call that stylish. Burberry Prorsum items are also included though they hardly belong to the military style.

This trend is seen in various formal dresses. Trends of military fashion for 2010 are mostly inspired by the military uniforms of the 20th century. Napoleon styled jackets with high stand collars, hussar influenced garments with a gold border, and admiral coats with an air of command in it. Army green is seen in cropped shearling collared coats and loose fitting cargo pants. If army green is the trend's color, then shearling is its fabric. And that's because of its dual use as an embellishment on aviator boots / military fashion boots and a coat's collar. A word of warning though: we have the odd occurrence of camouflage print, we'd recommend you avoid it for the time being - it's simply too soon a comeback.
Women generally do not prefer a boxy look or the hard military look as in mens style. Buckles, snaps, and fringes are included in their apparel.
You will not only find clothes and dresses of military style but footwear and accessories too. You can easily fill your wardrobe with any of your style of military trend.
So my dear metroholicas…..don't be too late to go for shopping because this trend is spreading very fast, select and pick your favorite style before anyone else does it and …..Be Fashionable…….!!!!

GO PEPPY WITH FUNKY FASHION

Summers are fun and so about colors and for trying out new and innovative fashion trends, for trying all the trends that follow. And this year one was the biggest and going to be most famous trend or style is the pop-art fashion.

The word Pop Art is an abbreviation for Popular Art. The name says it all. The Pop Art movement wanted to bring art back into the daily life of people. It was a reaction against abstract painting, which pop artists considered as too sophisticated and elite.

Pop Art is another of those many retro buzzwords or phrases that seems to be used to give sixties credo to any number of items, but once in a while it's right on the money. It is all about Expressive visuals, vivid colors, unconventional and joyful prints, Japanese influences, popular mass culture elements, comic books figures and graphics. ''Pop art is not pretentious. It relates to the cartoon of life the only art and fashion movement that is not …and this will become the fashion statement for the whole world this year.

Everyone loves graphic prints as they are mesmerizing and fun. Bold graphic prints entirely dominate this spring. Graphic prints are popping everywhere and were seen on the runways for most of the designers. Look for blown up prints, spunky graphics, and maybe even some subtle faded prints to add life to your wardrobe. Whether you opt for big or small prints, pair them with your own personal style for the right look.

Don't go for all over pop art style as you will look like a mobile painting and which is only good for the walls of your house. Choose one pop art element / outfit. Don't match pop art with pop art. Make the pop art item the central element of your outfit and construct your look starting from this statement item. Keep the rest of the outfit simple / neutral.

And if you don't want to go for clothes with graphic prints and don't worry in every market you can easily find accessories with these prints from bags to shoes to necklaces to bracelets, there is a whole lot of range available in the market.

But one thing you should keep in mind always is that don't go for this look in formal occasions.

So dear metroholicas …keep your old boring stuff at one side and try this funky yet stylish yet elegant look, and beat everyone with your style and Be Fashionable…..!!!!

GLOBAL FASHION

Summers have finally arrived. The season of wearing whatever you want and look cool and stylish. And I am here to help you look stylish, sassy and sexy by telling you the best thing to wear in summers.

And that is the kurti, yes I am not talking about the one who Indian women wear which is called the salwar kameez instead I am talking about the tunic style kurti which is considered as an indo-western outfit.

Kurti was also introduced in India but now its one of the most adapted style outside India too. It's simply because you can wear it with almost anything and still look cool! Also, you can wear kurtis to the beach, to the mall, and a good one even to a party and the fabric ranges from casual cottons to sensual silks.

Kurtis have now been an essential part of every woman's wardrobe. The best part of dressing in a kurtis is the fact that they are extremely comfortable and can be worn for hours at a stretch. Be it college going girls or middle aged women; kurtis are popular across all age categories.

Kurtis comes in different style, there are knee length kurtis, up to hips and now-a-days the most favorite is the short length kurtis which is up to the waist.

There are so many different ways of wearing a kurti. Here are some examples-

  • The first and the most common way of wearing a kurti are with denim, your usual ones. Team it up with high heels.
  • You can also wear a kurti with leggings but keep in mind to wear it with only knee length leggings.
  • You can wear a short well fitting kurti with your harem pants and wear mojaries on your feet.
  • I also favor kurtis worn with short denim skirts but you should always have the right attitude to carry it.

Kurtis are available in various materials. Kurtis worn during the months of summer are usually made of thin silk or cotton fabrics while winter season kurtis are made of fabrics like Khadi silk, jute and other thick fibers.

Chikan embroidered cotton kurtis at the best option to beat the Indian summer. This type of embroidery is seen on light, semi-transparent fabric.  The subtle effect of this embroidery on the kurti makes it rich and appealing in all senses.

While wearing a kurti you should always try to team them up with heels and big dazzling chandelier earrings will complete your look if you are wearing a kurti for a party.kurti should always be fitted according to your size. Girls, please try to avoid carrying your jhola style bags while wearing a kurti as it makes you look fashion disaster.

The best thing about going for a kurti look is that you can wear it at any time of the day and at any occasion. At informal and also at formal places. And you can easily find them at any market.

So, dear metroholicas don't waste your time in thinking and quickly go in the market and pick your style before someone else picks it up and Be Fashionable……!!!!!
